Windows 7 RC on Dell D630

I have rebuilt my laptop with Windows 7 RC.

So far it runs great. No extra drives and it found all the hardware.

It works with the dock and dual monitors without issue.

Hot undock and hot dock works as well.

Running 4GB RAM and Windows consumes about 25% with only Live Messenger and IE running.

Are you using 32 bit or 64 bit?

What about your bluetooth? Mine acts like it found the driver and its setup, but it will not find bluetooth devices and the bluetooth light built into laptop isn't light up.

I had no trouble with the bluetooth - it is working correctly without any third-party drivers.

In Device Manager there is a Bluetooth Radios section and it has both the Generic Adapter and Microsoft enumerator showing.

Quick note on my previous post - I have since upgraded to the full release of Windows 7 64bit.

So, I belive that bluetooth was working on the RC version - but I cannot say for sure.

It is working now under the full 64bit release.

Hello

I was trying to use Windows Seven on my notebook Dell D630, actually I am in charge to test this systems because there are plans to deploy it on all Notebooks and PC on the company I am working for.

The thing is that I had no hardware issues, it recornized all hardware. and also the performance is really good.

But when I try to install the symantec end point protection ( this is the antivirus software used on our company) the systems tells me that I need to reboot first the machine because there are unfinished systems installations. Which that's not make sense to me.

On the other hand we are using a WPA-TKIP wireless connection, by using only the WZC by domain polcy, The wireless connection is supposed to be working automatically when the computer registers into the domain but also this is not happening, I guess this is because the potrocol version on Windows /, the same thing happened whe using SP3 on Windows XP.

Do you have any feedback about these topic?

Thanks

Don't know anything about the Symantec products but a quick Google search revealed that you must use v11 or higher to even have a chance of it installing properly.

As to the WPA question - Windows 7 does not use the WZC so any of your existing domain policies will not work.
Check Technet for domain policies for Vista for some examples.
